Autumn Festival Highlights for TFTINMY - Awards & New Screenings

The autumn leg of The First Time I Never Met You’s festival run has been an especially rewarding one.

In August, the film was officially selected for the Lytham International Film Festival, where composer Joseph Alexander won Best Original Score for his beautifully atmospheric work on the project. It was a privilege to share the film with audiences there, and receiving recognition for its music was a real highlight of the year. (Listen to the full Original Score below)

Later that month, TFTINMY screened at “Rise of the Actor/Auteur”, a special programme at Rich Mix in Shoreditch celebrating short films created by actor-filmmakers. It was a sold-out night and an inspiring room to be part of, with the film screening alongside brilliant shorts by Louisa Connolly-Burnham, Darryl Foster, and Daisy Moore.

In September, the film continued its run at the Greenwich Film Festival, bringing the story to yet another London audience.

Then in November, TFTINMY was selected for the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York — a BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying festival. The film also received a longlist nomination for Best Production Design from the British Short Film Awards, which was a wonderful acknowledgment of the visual world we built for the story.

I’m incredibly grateful for the continued support and enthusiasm from audiences and festivals alike.
